Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Desktop Publisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and typography, as well as proficiency in desktop publishing software. As a Desktop Publisher, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and professionally formatted documents for print and digital distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Use desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress) to design and layout documents such as brochures, flyers, posters, reports, and presentations.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Create visually appealing layouts that incorporate text, images, graphics, and other elements in accordance with design principles and brand guidelines.
- Prepare files for print production, including setting up bleeds, trim marks, and color profiles, and ensuring proper resolution and file formats.
- Edit and proofread documents for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and best practices in desktop publishing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience as a Desktop Publisher or graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing desktop publishing skills.
- Proficiency in desktop publishing software, such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of typography, layout principles, and design fundamentals.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and visually appealing work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of print production processes and specifications is a plus.
